Shooting a model can be a lot of fun. As an assistant I began shooting headshots and actor portraits. We would photograph in the studio with strobe or go out on the roof and shoot with natural light. In this lesson we show you how to photograph your model using clamp lamps and diffusion tissue. This style gives a beautiful soft light on our model's face and is very versatile. You don't need expensive lighting equipment to get great results. Call a local modeling agency for your talent or look up models in your area on One Model Place or Model Mayhem. Aspiring models are always in need for new photography in their portfolios so they are eager to work with you. Once your lighting is set then the fun begins. Direct your model for the reactions you want but also let them be free to be creative as well. Talk over the look you want to get and try different expressions and body language.
