Great portrait photography does not have to be technically complex. Last month we talked about shooting a portrait using natural light. Today, Nick Carter demonstrates how to create gorgeous fashion portrait using just one light.
Single Light Source.
If you feel comfortable using natural light in your photography then using a single light in the studio would be equivalent of owning your own sun (single light source). While nature can be unpredicted using an artificial source such as studio flash or continuous light will give you a full control.

Using one light is a terrific way to learn. If one can master a single light there would be no surprises when multiply lights will be needed later in the game. Keep the variables to the minimum and focus on the subject.
Have a great shoot.
